SWG / SOE and what they’re doing now…..
by credits4swg on Jun.26, 2011, under Swg Credits
So most of you probably know about all of the trouble Sony has had with the PSN and SOE system. It was hacked.
As part of their “Make Good” program, every active SWG account is receiving a Boba Fett Slave ITM miniature ship model. They are also running the Bonus Everything Weekend from now until the Tuesday after Memorial Day!
I also checked the TCG and found that i had 3 free booster packs and 1 choose any loot card pack. I of course chose the Ionized Tibanna Gas Display. It looks like a lot of people did.
Thats the hard one to get!! NOW ITS FREE!!
SWG: New Community Manager
by credits4swg on May.26, 2011, under SWG Cheats
Star Wars Galaxies Community Manager Lydia “Zatozia” Pope is moving to other titles in SOE, making way for her replacement:
“Greetings Star Wars Galaxies players! Zatozia has been a part of your community for quite some time and not only brought mountains of feedback to the Development team, but created some exciting forum activities as well. She has truly made the Star Wars Galaxies community stand out among our products, and we wish her well as she moves to other games within SOE. “At this time we would also like to introduce your new Community Manager Mepps. An MMO veteran, he looks forward to working with you all and making Star Wars Galaxies one of the best MMO communities to be a part of. Look for him to say hello in the very near future.”
Protect Your SWG Account
by credits4swg on Jan.07, 2011, under swg characters
SWG account is extremely important for players, and it is the responsibility to protect your account. Protect your account is to protect your personal information and your SWG Credits. This includes password protection, running virus checks, disabling file sharing, or any other means of checking that the owner’s account has not been stolen or compromised. If you find yourself a victim, not all is lost! CSR’s may be able to offer a one-time only “character restoration.” But first you must recover your account (details on doing this can be found here.) SOE strives to maintain an exciting and safe gaming environment. To make things more enjoyable for everyone, we offer basic advice on how to keep your account and credits of SWG secure. There are a variety of ways in which people will attempt to gain access to your account, and the list grows everyday. If player hope to protect your account and SWG gold, look at the following simple tips from us. We are not only offer players cheap SWG credits, but also useful information.
It is not a good idea to share your account
We believe that you have play MMORPG once, you have hear this same advice. No matter your friends or your family, don’t share your SWG account. It is a very useful to protect your SWG money and property. Gamers have heard the advice before, yet a lot of people still opt to share their account information with close friends. Having a guildmate complete a quest for you while you’re sleeping may seem mostly harmless, but bad things can happen. While it doesn’t always end in catastrophe, you could log back in with a new last name like “Lovetrollslongtime” or something slightly worse which might result in a banning. It’s not always obvious, malicious attacks that cause good accounts to go bad! I’m sure we’ve all heard the fateful stories of guildbanks emptied and outfit members booted. Sadly, this is often a direct result of sharing account information. Not only do you run the risk of virtual strangers reeking havoc on all you’ve worked hard for, but you make it difficult for SOE’s customer service staff to investigate and resolve issues.
Be aware of phishing sites
As a wise SWG players, you should be aware of phishing sites which is usually a website created to mimic a well-known or frequently used site in an attempt to fraudulently gain sensitive account information. It means your SWG credits, exclusive items and equipments are very dangerous. Gaming communities have been targeted in the past via email, spamming a link that takes the reader to a site that, upon first glance, appears to be legit. The imposter site may offer in-game items for completing surveys, or pose as a game representative, warning that your account is in limbo. Here at SOE we do not offer enticing ways to earn in-game money through email. We prefer the old fashioned way of logging in, killing mobs, completing quests, etc. Be extremely cautious when exposed to external sites through email, claiming to be affiliated with Sony Online. You will only be prompted to enter your password when logging into an SOE game, or when visiting an official Station site.

Free Month of SWG for Former Players
by credits4swg on Mar.25, 2010, under swg characters, SWG Credit Farming Guide, Swg Credits
One free month for returning players is a great idea, imo. Bringing them back for the revamped Galactic Civil War may be great incentive for former players to resub. The following is from HeartlessGamer.com:
Return to the Galaxy for FREE
Any player that has previously subscribed to Star Wars Galaxies will be able to play the game free of charge between February 1st and March 1st.
No, this is not out of the kindness of SOE’s heart. Its an offer to promote their upcoming Galactic Civil War expansion: Forces Under Siege. This would be the expansion where SOE finally realizes that there is a galactic civil war occurring during the Star Wars classic time line.
Any old-school player (that means pre-NGE) will probably remember little to nothing about the galactic civil war from the original game, because there wasn’t one. Sure, Rebels and Imperial scum could chase each other around and spam knockdowns, but it was for no gain to either faction. It was nothing more than a constant gankfest at each of the spaceports. It sucked. No, it really, really sucked.
However, the new expansion approach to the GCW isn’t going to tempt me back into the game. I only mention it because its a free month of play for a MMOG, a Star Wars MMOG no less.

SWG Galactic Civil War and Player City Statistics
by credits4swg on Mar.25, 2010, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, Swg Credits, SWG GUIDE
Found an interesting SWG article with statistical charts. Full Stratics MMONews Post with 5 more charts is here.
SWG Galactic Civil War and Player City Statistics – 15th of February 2010
Among SWG communities, there are regular heated discussions occurring every day regarding combat profession balance, GCW participation levels and server populations.
To aid these discussions, I put together some graphs and charts using stats available from the Galactic Civil War: Officer’s Salute! which shows statistics of all characters in SWG that are ranked higher than Lieutenant rank in the Galactic Civil War. This small sub-section of the SWG playerbase tends to be PvP players, although Pilots and PvE players are also able to appear on these statistics.
I also take statistics from the official Star Wars Galaxies – Player Cities page. With these stats I was able to calculate the Minimum number of characters declaring residence in servers cities to support current city rankings. This is put together based on Rank 2 cities requiring 10 characters declaring residence, Rank 3 = 15, Rank 4 = 30 and Rank 5 = 40. I then add up the total and create a chart on these numbers.
I’d like to stress that as these statistics are drawn from the limited information that SoE makes public about the game, they can only be used to identify specific trends. They do not give any accurate data on subscriber numbers or subscriber retention.

SWG Guides
by credits on Mar.13, 2010, under Swg Credits
Something that might explain why few people post anything here these days is actually a multi-angle answer:
1. The biggest problem and most common is when an exploit or “game mechanic” or third party program with the intention of helping fellow players make their game easier, it always attracts the people depend their entire enjoyment of the game on how easily they can get their hands on the almighty “I win” button for PVP and ruin it for the rest of us. IE: the storyteller weapon exploit. No further explanation there needed (I hope).
2. People are afraid to post anything real or viable due to the possibility that SOE has fully-paid premium accounts fishing for things to add to the stealth nerf list. Why they decided to make the basic grinding mind-numbingly boring then take away easy paths to cl90 is beyond me. What’s more fun? Being forced to quest or grind for days or weeks on end to get to 90? Or rush to 90 using suggestions on this site in only a few hours then go do what you want with your friends in the game?
I remember when the game started nearly six years ago (for me, I wasn’t in the beta), when the computer was just about finished installing the game, a phrase popped up that said something to the effect of “It is time to embark on the greatest saga ever told… yours.” My apologies for going off-topic there, but it’s something that’s been bothering me more and more for the last few years in SWG.
The example for this one is the classic “hey has anyone heard how to do (this or that) exploit?” That account is typically a dev putting his hand in the cookie jar and hoping he won’t get caught trying to ruin something for us.
3. Sometimes people are hesitant to post something they’ve found because they’re afraid of being flamed on the off chance that any old joe has the inability to follow directions, or worse, they might forget to post a step, intentionally or otherwise, and be labeled for life as someone who doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Reasons someone might intentionally skip a step are discussed in #2 above.
They may hope that if they skip a step, it might be obvious enough to the player attempting to use it to figure it out, or it could be a way to try to draw out the SOE spies, who knows? There are a multitude of reasons why this situation could happen, it’s pretty much a fill-in-the-blank question for anyone here to answer.
I don’t have an example for this one, but it sounds like there are a fair amount of incomplete instructions posts on the site, so no one would have to look far for that.
I’m sure there are probably more reasons for the lack of useful posts and programs, but to my knowledge, these are most likely many more I haven’t thought of. It’s pretty late and trying to think of more reasons is just not gonna happen without some sleep.

Credit farmers
I am not sure if it still works anymore but, some of them used bunch of trial accounts for terminal mission. They had 1 lvl 90 char in group, rest were low level chars taking terminal mission (which were lvl 90 because of the one lvl 90 in group). All the low-lvls were placed in a vehicle following the lvl 90, who destroyed the lairs or what ever. After 10-15 they were rdy and started a new round.
Another way was by betraying SOE … they created new accounts paid by credit card. They sold the newbie-rewards (AT-RT etc) and closing the credit card account (safed the Credits on another chars). That was the reason why it was able to get AT-RTs on all well populated servers for 5mil.
Several of the credit farming sites do not farm at all. They buy them from players in game, and re-sell them. They don’t even do the exchange themselves.
They contact you to see if you have spare credits. If so, you trade them over to their customer wanting to buy them. The verbal exchange that takes place during this is up to you (“Here’s the credits I owe you for the holo” or whatever).
You screenshot the trade, sent to the “farm” site, and get paid while they collect more money from the customer. Literally, they are just the middle man making cash off of the transaction.

New SWG Imperial Content
by credits4swg on Dec.15, 2009, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, Swg Credits, SWG GUIDE
Those serving the Empire will be glad to hear that there will be new credit and loot opportunities available!
Taking from the SOE article:
Characters level 85 to 90 will soon be able to take part in revamped Imperial content to complete new quests and earn new rewards!
Players who have already completed the Imperial Theme Park have been granted permission by the Galactic Empire to complete new tasks for the high ranking officials of the Empire. Imperial citizens and officers who complete the assignments set before them by the Empire will earn Galactic Civil War points for completing quests and will also obtain a brand new quest reward.
SWG RedMoon Research Facility
by credits4swg on Dec.15, 2009, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, Swg Credits, SWG GUIDE
Today’s Galactic Showcase is about the unique “RedMoon Task Force Research Facility,” a secret research building guarded by entrusted members of the RedMoon Task Force. A teaser:
The building also holds lost relics such as a focused crystal and Mandalorian gear such as a jetpack base. RedMoon Task force has recently completed the building with many rare items such as ornate rugs, a polished Krayt dragon skull, and pieces from an Aurilian sculpture.
You might be just a sterling, all-around SWG gamer, but you’ve got to admit — it’s better to have friends help you earn SWG credits. As they say, no man is an asteroid (hehe!).
Here’s an excerpt from the guide released by SOE:
Some players prefer to search in person at local starports and cantinas for potential team-ups. Mid-level players level 40-50 might try meeting other players in Coronet on Corellia. Mos Eisley contains some of the most colorful residents of Tatooine and remains a popular meeting spot for adventurers of all levels. Players often barter, duel, and form groups outside the starport.
