Star Wars Galaxies Jump to Lightspeed Guide
Kashyyyk: There are some very useful spots to mention in Kashyyyk C mostly
around the Kashyyyk Space Station. Some Tier 4 Mercenary Freighters spawn no more than 2000-3000m from it, and they are on an extremely fast timer C as soon as you kill them, they’ll pop right back to life. You might be able to make extremely high amounts of experience here if you kill them quickly C in fact, it might be the fastest experience gaining spot of all, and it is perfect for the Tier 4 boxes. There is some very good level 6 loot on them too, and it drops very frequently
Dathomir: Maybe the toughest spawns apart from some Kessel and Kashyyyk
ones reside here. If you ever get bored of other systems and wish for something a bit more exciting, the Dathomir sector is a good place for a nice change of pace. There’s quite a bit of Imperial spawns there too.Eve Online ISK
Kessel: Gunboats, gunboats, gunboats. If you know how to take on gunboats,
they can give you approximately 25-35k XP per single kill. Kessel is full of factional Tier 5 ships and the good thing about it is that, if you’re a Freelance Pilot, the GCW factioned enemies won’t attack you at all (you will still have to worry about various pirate spawns but they are pretty rare) C you’ll be able to single them out and take them on one by one without interference. This makes Kessel a “grinding” haven for Freelancers, with other ships ranging from 6500 to 10000 XP per kill. Not to mention the pretty good loot drops, a nice place to take a turret-equipped fighter, and a great way to gain Faction Points as a GCW factioned Pilot.
4.2.2. Maximising XP gain
The experience point gain in JTL works a bit differently than the SWG ground
game. Every time someone scores a hit on an enemy fighter, that person will be rewarded with full experience no matter what their Pilot tier is and no matter who finally destroyed the enemy ship or dealt it the most damage. This can allow for much faster “powerleveling” by grouping with Pilots from a higher Tier than yourself.
To do this, your best choice would be to follow your Pilot friend on a duty mission
and stay away from the enemy ships (depending on the Tier difference, you could be just fine if you attacked one or a few of them C judge that by yourself), wait for him to disable them all and simply fly to each one and destroy it. Both of you will get the XP, and he will probably get the credits and the loot, as it is automatically assigned to the personEve Isk who dealt the most damage.
All you need to pay attention to is for your Pilot factions to be compatible C if the
group leader who’s taking the duty missions is,Eve Gold for example, Rebel and you’re Imperial, he
GCW Memories

I was never that much into the Galactic Civil War, primarily because I don’t care for PvP. The GCW update is on the Test Servers now, and the initial response has been good. I do have memories of the old pre-CU GCW.
I remember landing at a player city shuttle and not seeing the Faction Scanners right at the landing. You would get flagged and blown up from the Mine Field as soon as you stepped off the Shuttle platform. At the time I was annoyed at the inconvenience of having to clone before continuing what I was doing, but now it is a fond memory.
I also have an old crate on Anti-Vehicle Mines still. I doubt they will be usefull again, maybe there is Museum on Flurry that would take them

Free Month of SWG for Former Players
by credits4swg on Mar.25, 2010, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, Swg Credits, swg characters
One free month for returning players is a great idea, imo. Bringing them back for the revamped Galactic Civil War may be great incentive for former players to resub. The following is from HeartlessGamer.com:
Return to the Galaxy for FREE
Any player that has previously subscribed to Star Wars Galaxies will be able to play the game free of charge between February 1st and March 1st.
No, this is not out of the kindness of SOE’s heart. Its an offer to promote their upcoming Galactic Civil War expansion: Forces Under Siege. This would be the expansion where SOE finally realizes that there is a galactic civil war occurring during the Star Wars classic time line.
Any old-school player (that means pre-NGE) will probably remember little to nothing about the galactic civil war from the original game, because there wasn’t one. Sure, Rebels and Imperial scum could chase each other around and spam knockdowns, but it was for no gain to either faction. It was nothing more than a constant gankfest at each of the spaceports. It sucked. No, it really, really sucked.
However, the new expansion approach to the GCW isn’t going to tempt me back into the game. I only mention it because its a free month of play for a MMOG, a Star Wars MMOG no less.

Producer Note: February 5th, 2010
by credits4swg on Mar.25, 2010, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, SWG News, Swg Credits, swg characters
Since GU15 went live last week, the team has continued to work on the update and incorporate your feedback. We added a “GCW Personal Contribution” radial menu option to the war terminal to help players see how they are contributing to the GCW. We polished and tweaked the city invasions to make them more enjoyable and challenging. We put in a tutorial interface that can be used at any time to get a waypoint or as a help reference (“/gcwSkirmishCityHelp”). And for the next hot fix, we’ve made all the GCW Battle Worn Armor destructible. I actually had to pull the team off the GCW enhancements and get them going on GU16 and EFOL. They are all really excited about this update and want to make sure it’s in the best shape possible for you to enjoy. Don’t worry though; they will be back on GCW later this year. For GCW part 2, we are planning to refine and expand the systems introduced in this first update and turn our focus to space and player cities.
It’s really fun to watch players compete for region and planet control. Congratulations to the Rebels for just edging out the Imperials in the Galaxy Wide GCW score (Rebel 52% vs. Imperial 48%). Imperials need to step it up some to grab hold of the galaxy again. Good luck to you all.
Want to know how the Galaxy Wide score is calculated? Log into DevH and find out.
Also on the war front, MMORPG posted an interview with me covering this update. Be sure and check it out

Current Pilot Update
by credits4swg on Mar.25, 2010, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, SWG GUIDE, Swg Credits, swg characters
Hjal dropped a brief post about what’s going on in the Pilot world, find the full thread here.
Just a quick update as I’ve been silent the last couple of day… disclaimer, since I’m still working on the things mentioned things can and probably will changeJ:
- Nym’s should now be repeatable. It took a little longer since the code didn’t really support what I wanted it to do so I had to rewrite the way the quest works (none of this should be visible when playing the game). This will mean that if you have any of the old scrolls lying around, they probably wont work after the update, but with the low respawn time this shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
- Lord Cyssc should now be repeatable. If you’ve completed the quest and gotten the badge you can now talk to Gursan Bryes again and he will give you a slightly different version of the quest. (Same ships, same functionality, the target is now just a ‘Blackscale Leader’. The quest will give out one of four different ships guns: the Vengeance Ion Cannon, Ionic Pulse Cannon, Trando Repeater or the Heavy Ionic Pulse Cannon.
- The new duty missions should now be avilable at space stations. Currently they are split up based on the tier of the duty mission:
Tatooine, Corellia and Naboo will offer tier 1 and 2 missions.
Lok and Yavin4 will offer tier 3 missions.
Dantooine, Endor and Dathomir will offer their 4 and 5.
Currently the factional tier 5 missions will take you to Kessel. I placed the factional missions there since I’m not sure what the effect would be in terms of planet scores and the upcoming GCW updated part 2.
The vendor that will accept the tokens granted by the duty missions is working though I need to get him placed somewhere. And the poor guy needs a name, he’s currently ‘An unknown creature’… any suggestions?
- I currently got a proto type system for getting to and from Kessel and Deep Space running on my machine. This should help even things out for the different factions when it comes to getting back into the fight. I’ll get into more details once I’ve made sure that my prototype won’t blow up in my face
- I’m currently looking into engine speeds. I got the schematic for a new elite engine and I’m researching the pre and post nerf speeds on Tier 6 and 10 engines. Though so far I can say that I won’t return them directly to their un-nerfed speeds (I’m not sure a level 10 engine with a raw 142 TS would be a good idea ).
I’m going to head off again, but hopefully this will at least give everyone an idea of what going on.

Nuetral Enemy of the Empire?
by credits4swg on Mar.25, 2010, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, Swg Credits, swg characters
Recently I took my Nuetral Trader to checkout the new faction stuff in Dearic. I agreed to some crafting thing, but never got the chance to craft stuff. Today I wanted to checkout the Ewok Love thing, and noticed the Kaadara Storm Troopers were red (enemy) dots on Radar.
I checked my Faction/GCW tab in Character screen.
I was killed in Kaadara, I assume because I was temporarily flagged as a Rebel Sympathizer.
This is strange thing to deal with on my Nuetral Tailor, so I cloned in Theed to get rid of the faction flag.
After cloning the Storm Troopers in Theed were still red dots that would attack me onsite. WTF.
Maybe I have to go back to Dearic and talk to the Rebel Recruiter guy again? Tell him I want to resign from the faction I AM NOT A MEMBER OF???

SWG Galactic Civil War and Player City Statistics
by credits4swg on Mar.25, 2010, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, SWG GUIDE, Swg Credits
Found an interesting SWG article with statistical charts. Full Stratics MMONews Post with 5 more charts is here.
SWG Galactic Civil War and Player City Statistics – 15th of February 2010
Among SWG communities, there are regular heated discussions occurring every day regarding combat profession balance, GCW participation levels and server populations.
To aid these discussions, I put together some graphs and charts using stats available from the Galactic Civil War: Officer’s Salute! which shows statistics of all characters in SWG that are ranked higher than Lieutenant rank in the Galactic Civil War. This small sub-section of the SWG playerbase tends to be PvP players, although Pilots and PvE players are also able to appear on these statistics.
I also take statistics from the official Star Wars Galaxies – Player Cities page. With these stats I was able to calculate the Minimum number of characters declaring residence in servers cities to support current city rankings. This is put together based on Rank 2 cities requiring 10 characters declaring residence, Rank 3 = 15, Rank 4 = 30 and Rank 5 = 40. I then add up the total and create a chart on these numbers.
I’d like to stress that as these statistics are drawn from the limited information that SoE makes public about the game, they can only be used to identify specific trends. They do not give any accurate data on subscriber numbers or subscriber retention.

Creative ways with 4 accounts to get considerable GCW
by credits on Mar.13, 2010, under Swg Credits
Reading an old guide about doing faction missiong from terminals. And it got me thinking, because im about to do a similar thing but with creatures. I need to get some hide. Go out with what ever toons u want gcw on, and bring your other toons along. Have them running an afk assist macro for extra dps. Then just run between two of the missions all your toons got, and the npcs will hopefully respawn by the time you switch mission spawn locations. Eventually i think they will stop respawning this way, and you can blow up the tiny lil base for like 22 gcw points. Other than that i heard you can get around 2-3k gcw an hour in deep space. I also was reading that you can grind an ent up, or if you already have a lvl 90 that you want to make the opposite faciton you can do that. Go to a static base and go overt/SF and just have them run in and kill each other. You can do this about 10 times for each character per day. I would have both characters farm gcw off each other, because the higher rank that one of ur toons is, the more gcw the other toon will get for the kill. Plus the static bases give some not so bad gcw for very little effort.
