SWG: New Community Manager

Star Wars Galaxies Community Manager Lydia “Zatozia” Pope is moving to other titles in SOE, making way for her replacement:

As for being robbed, I play FFXI, and I have found the XU tool completely and utterly awesome. Many other people playing other games feel the same way.
If you want to, you can look up the scripts and such in the other forums, and then write your own SWG scripts to do what you need to do.
Honestly this site is almost exclusivly about the tool XUnleashed, and scripts. I haven’t gotten a single exploit from here (like dupe bug), and I’ve never seen people just “chatting” about the games (though maybe some people do).
But even without those, and without specific scripts, you’ve gained access to a tool that will
1) Allow you to window in and out of game.
2) Allow you to easily record a serious of keystrokes, which it can then play back (macros).
3) A program that allows you to create even simple Scripts using VBScript where you can send a serious of strings to the game (like /fight, /jobability, or what ever commands you use in SWG).
With a little finesse, and some smart thinking, you can with that alone in about 1/2 an hour begin automating some of those basic tasks that detract from the fun of the game. If you are a programmer, or a fast learner, you can get into pixel detection and deeper scripting that would open up even more options for you.
Sure, you don’t have a lot no brainer’s set up for you already, but you do have a lot of options available if you wanna work at it for a little bit.
SWG and AFK Macro Farmers

I picked up SWG not too long ago and I’m quite disgusted with the ability to use macros to harvest materials through hand sampling, farm mobs for drops, or even to level up combat professions while the person is at work or sleeping.
Having a Trader myself, I have to compete in the market with other traders who hand sample on Mustafar while sleeping and working. This is an unfair advantage to those who can or choose to run their games all day and night. It also lowers the value of those resources.
If you’re leveling and doing legacy quests, you may run into a quest area and find 5+ afk players killing all the mobs you need for your quest. Happened to me recently with this new Chronicles update. There’s been several complaints from new players trying to quest. Besides the quest interference, I think it’s just wrong to be able to kill while afk.
Anyone else think that a game that allows you to level, kill, and farm resources while away from your computer is a terrible game? That is a horrible way to run a game.
Eve online and SWG

EVE has a larger fan groups than SWG and for amount reasons. The games, while it is in space that they are taking place, are quite different. The size of both gaming spaces is totally different. While Eve Online owns over systems 5,000, while SWG only has 12. Even though you will be able to play online in SWG, you will be stuck playing out a scenario instead of being able to control your own fate. But there are reasons why people enjoy Star Wars also. This is WHY the game becomes like every other video game.
The game is set-up like the movie in the theater. If you are a fan of Star Wars, you will like this that much. You will work with Jabba the or Hut Darth Vader and more! If you enjoy MMORPG, but do not want to make all the decisions concerning your character and what they will be doing, then this game is ESPECIALLY for you. People who have played Star Wars and Eve Online seem to like Eve Online much better, but there are those who like both. It is a matter of personal preference.
