Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided PC
by credits4swg on Dec.05, 2010, under SWG GUIDE
Will you fight for the Empire or will you fight against it? Or will you stay out of it altogether? Or – better yet, will you deal with both sides to turn a healthy profit? These are all questions that you will have to consider when you choose to play this game…
The basic premise of the game is that you are a single person struggling for success amongst a galaxy containing thousands of other people, each of which is controlled by another human being. The wars are fought by the players, the economy is driven by them too. Entering a cantina, human players will entertain you with both dance and song. A human barkeep may offer you drinks, or even a plate of food.
This online game is all about the players. What will you do? Basically, the sky is the limit! Do you want to dabble in the culinary arts, shoot things down with a long-ranged rifle and then come home to a nice evening of playing a slitherhorn or a fizz in the local cantina? If so, that is possible! You can combine any number of professions and skills to form a unique character for yourself.
One of the best parts of Galaxies is the fact that players themselves have to help each other through the game. That’s the spirit we’ve taken with this guide… which is, of course, completely FREE. We’ve filled in some of the basic facts of the game, and given players the tools to get started. Beyond that, the game is so wide-open, we’ve left it open to you, the players, to help us fill in the gaps. Send us your best tips for each of the sections of this guide, including tips onRaces, Professions, Crafting, Harvesting, the Economy, Battle, PvP, Planets, and Commands. Or, if you just feel like getting your player seen, send a picture of him/her to the Community section (along with your name) and we’ll keep a yearbook of sorts to show off the various and sundry personalities of Galaxies.
Bounty Hunter
by credits on Nov.23, 2010, under SWG GUIDE
Bounty hunters chase the worst foes in the galaxy. These mercenaries learn to use whatever dirty tricks necessary to bring the prey down.
When someone needs an enemy taken care of, they hire bounty hunters to do their dirty work. Tracking down and eliminating people are what bounty hunters do best. As a bounty hunter, you must learn the tricks of ambush and assault so your prey does not escape.

Since GU15 went live last week, the team has continued to work on the update and incorporate your feedback. We added a “GCW Personal Contribution” radial menu option to the war terminal to help players see how they are contributing to the GCW. We polished and tweaked the city invasions to make them more enjoyable and challenging. We put in a tutorial interface that can be used at any time to get a waypoint or as a help reference (“/gcwSkirmishCityHelp”). And for the next hot fix, we’ve made all the GCW Battle Worn Armor destructible. I actually had to pull the team off the GCW enhancements and get them going on GU16 and EFOL. They are all really excited about this update and want to make sure it’s in the best shape possible for you to enjoy. Don’t worry though; they will be back on GCW later this year. For GCW part 2, we are planning to refine and expand the systems introduced in this first update and turn our focus to space and player cities.
It’s really fun to watch players compete for region and planet control. Congratulations to the Rebels for just edging out the Imperials in the Galaxy Wide GCW score (Rebel 52% vs. Imperial 48%). Imperials need to step it up some to grab hold of the galaxy again. Good luck to you all.

Also on the war front, MMORPG posted an interview with me covering this update. Be sure and check it out

New SWG PvP Guide
by credits4swg on Dec.15, 2009, under Swg Credits, SWG GUIDE
Today’s SOE article is a brand new PvP guide with tips from the SWG developers and the community elected Player Senate. Here’s an overview from the article:
“There are a lot of ways to get around the galaxy. While most of the common fighting spots will have a shuttle destination, allowing for easy transport, don’t underestimate the benefit of items such as an ITV that allows you to travel to a local destination without having to catch a shuttle or use a space ship. If, for example, the enemies are controlling the entrance to Restuss, look at your planetary map. There might be a second shuttle near the city that would allow you to easily approach the ruins from a different direction.
Camps with shuttle beacons and cloning facilities can be very useful. This is especially true when fighting away from starports and cloning centers. Making good use of camps can allow you and your group to quickly get to the action and quickly recover after being forced to clone.”
SWG Warden Program
by credits4swg on Nov.28, 2009, under Swg Credits, SWG GUIDE
Keep the SWG credits spammers out of the game! Join the SWG Warden program, which was introduced by some cool SWG fiction:
She marched outside and glared down the street at the loud noise. “That’s it,” she declared, “I’m going to the mayor. He better do something about those ruffians.”
Escara had taken two steps inside city hall when she heard the mayor’s wary voice. “Let me guess,” said Mikdanyell Guh’rannt. “Noise complaint?”
For more information about the Warden program and how you can join in the fight against spammers across the galaxy, please see this announcement for details.

SWG Galactic Stroll
by credits4swg on Nov.23, 2009, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, Swg Credits
Today’s Galactic Showcase is about a cool structure, named “A Galactic Stroll,” that was created to share the many terrific items a player has found throughout the galaxy. A teaser:
Grayshuc hopes this bunker can remind us all of our own great times in Star Wars Galaxies. “A Galactic Stroll” has something for everyone to be able to relate their own SWG memories to, and he also hopes it will encourage everyone to continue to make new ones.
Credits to Grayshuc for this structure. Read more here.

by credits4swg on Nov.13, 2009, under Swg Credits, SWG GUIDE
Don’t get caught flatfooted! Always be alert and know thy enemy, so you can amass millions of SWG credits!
The galaxy can be a dangerous place for an adventurer setting out on a mission. Carefully consider your enemies before you take them on and you just might survive out there. Here’s an excerpt from the latest SOE guide:
Opponents that are exceptionally well-versed in combat and fighting are known as Elite and Boss enemies. Always bring friends when taking on these adversaries – this won’t be an easy battle!

by credits4swg on Nov.13, 2009, under Swg Credits, SWG GUIDE
