SWG Galactic Civil War 2 – Space Update

by credits4swg on Jun.26, 2011, under Swg Credits

We all know that space has needed some help in SWG for a while. It’s still reayyl awesome but it needs more. It looks like they’re working on it, and it looks good.

In addition to new GCW scenarios in space, they are also introducing the ACE Pilot System where you can battle against some of the best pilots from classic Star Warsâ„¢ lore. How would you fare against Wedge Antilles or other famous Star Wars characters? Find out in the GCW2 Space Update coming soon to a galaxy near you! I cant wait!!

Being able to fly against Wedge or maybe even Anakin, what a hoot that would be. He was supposed to be one of the best!! I’m interested to see these new scenarios they have lined up for us and there better be more than 1 for each faction.

Star Wars Galaxies’ Galactic War update jumps onto test server

by credits4swg on May.05, 2011, under SWG GUIDE

When patches hit the test server, it’s almost like an official patch day, but without the luster of permanence. Still, Star Wars Galaxies players can now check out (and help bug test!) the Galactic War update on the game’s test server. The update is loaded with a substantial ranking system that aims to supply players with a bevy of new rewards to earn — seriously, the amount of rewards is simply staggering.

Seems like a pretty good deal, assuming you’re interested in fighting for your faction. Then again, what member of the Rebels or Empire wouldn’t want to kick butt and take names for, well, glory? Mmm, glory, it’s almost as delicious as bacon with twice the daily fiber content. You can check out the enormous list of new mechanics on the official SWG site, and if you’d like to dive deeper — and maybe give some input — there’s always the official forums, too.

Star Wars: The Old Republic releases more intel on the Imperial Agent

by credits4swg on May.05, 2011, under Swg Credits

One of the frequently-voiced concerns about Star Wars: The Old Republic is the possibility that the non-Force classes will wind up becoming almost irrelevant. Who’s going to pay attention to being a spy when you can wield an energy sword and fling lightning, right? As a matter of fact, the Imperial Agent would like very much if no one ever notices they exist. They’re quite happy to stand in the background and never be observed, because as the latest developer’s entry explains, that’s precisely what the Agent does best. They exist in the shadow, the man of many faces and a hundred names, a presence whose influence is strongest when it isn’t evident at all.

Star Wars: The Old Republic faces the difficult task of making the Sith — traditionally the villains of the franchise — into a playable and likable faction rather than monolithic evil. As the developer entry points out, the Imperial Agent is a major part of that, of giving the chance to look at someone who is quite possibly a proud citizen of the Empire and happy to serve in keeping the peace and bring down the Republic. It’s also a look at the parts between the lines of the films, the spies and intel operators whose role was important but whose faces were rarely seen. But you might decide not to look at the full discussion of the class anyway — and as we’ve mentioned, really, that’s what the agent would want

What is the point of Star Wars Galaxies?

by credits4swg on Jan.13, 2011, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, SWG Farming Guide, SWG Leveling Guide

For years now the developers have given the cryptic answer To Live in the Star Wars Universe. Many people get this and have wanted to do just that for well over 20 years. However Living in the universe is too vague for some gamers (heck, most people don’t quite understand what the point of living in the real world is I’ll give you a hint to be good to one another).

So for the goal minded folks out there, here is the Point of playing SWG:

1) Learn the basics of the game for a while so you don’t appear to be a newbie.

2) Accomplish all the different types of missions, from the quick and straight forward Mission Terminals to the multi-legged and more varied NPC static quests. You may need to travel beyond your starting city to find the more involved ones.

3) Gain enough money to buy (or gain enough skill to make) a good weapon and other equipment that suits your character.

4) Finish a themepark such as getting all the way to Jabba’s Throne Room. Beat at least 1 dungeon on every planet.

5) By doing factional missions or joining battlefields, gain enough faction points to rise up through the ranks in the Empire or Rebellion. Make enough points to try out all of the perks.

6) Join a Player Association that fits your play-style. Help others members to accomplish their unique goals and they will help you with yours.

7) Keep tabs on your Badges. You want to get over 100 of these to consider yourself a success in SWG.

8 ) Spend all of your skill points to master several professions. (Be sure you surrender some skills and learn new ones to find the character combination best for you)

9) Search the galaxy to find the spot you want to call home and build a house there so you can leave your mark on that galaxy. (Be sure to furnish it as an empty house doesnt count)

10) When you are done with all that, work on figuring out how to unlock the Force Sensitive slot. If you can do that (and very few of you will and it will take several months, at least), then repeat the process with your new Jedi character until you are able to get the Jedi Master title.

When you have accomplished these 10 not-so-easy steps, you can say you have won the game. There you have it. But please note, this list is subject to change as we add new content such as player cities, player vehicles, more quests, and full expansions.

Now, of course, feel free to substitute any of the above with other activities you enjoy in the game, such as becoming a famous entertainer, well-sought after crafter, always in demand doctor or highly feared bounty hunter. Or just have fun exploring, fishing, dueling, getting married, attending parties, meeting new people, helping people stuck in step one or even hosting your own events for each other. Definitely try to Role Play (it isn’t hard, you don’t have to act goofy, just don’t bring real world conversation into the spatial chat).

Thanks for your reading. By the way, we provide Star Wars Galaxies Credits with the lowest price and the best service. Please contact with us any time.

How Star Wars Galaxies Pilots Gain an Edge When Flying in Space

by credits on Jan.05, 2011, under Swg Credits

Jump to Lightspeed gave players the chance to put the star in Star Wars. The expansion has more in common with flight simulators than an mmorpg.

Jedi, Commandos, Bounty Hunters and Officers have the planetary combat side of Star Wars Galaxies covered, but a game can hardly call itself Star Wars without including the opportunity for players to have their pilots portray the brave pilots of the Rebel Alliance, the Empire, and pilots who choose to associate themselves with the legitimate businessman such as Jabba the Hutt.

Pilot is not a profession that a character starts out with, but rather an added profession a character can join to give his character something more to do. Unlike the ground game which plays the same way as many other traditional mmorpgs do.

The space game of Star Wars Galaxies does not rely on levels as much as the ground game does. The skill of a pilot is more important in determining who gets the victory. The space game has more in common with a flight simulator than it does with an mmorpg.

Starting Out as a Pilot
Because players do not start out as pilots in Star Wars Galaxies, a character who wants to experience the space end of the game should seek out an Imperial or Rebel pilot recruiter. Which faction recruiter a character seeks out will depend on which faction he has chosen to ally himself with.

Getting Your First Star Fighter in Star Wars Galaxies
Players who choose to be pilots will at first be given plans for a Z-95 fighter, which for the past several years has had hyper drive capabilities. While this fighter is good enough to get them through the first missions, a character will want to upgrade eventually. As the experience of a character earns as a pilot increases, he will be able to fly better star fighters with better shields and weaponry. The star fighters a pilot character can fly is determined by his faction.

Star Wars Galaxies Pilot Tricks
While getting experience as a pilot is a matter of blowing up opposing craft, there are a few tricks a Star Wars Galaxies pilot can use to give him an extra edge. Many of these tricks work in many other flight simulator games.

The first tip that Star Wars Galaxiespilots can use is that they should fire their lasers where they think the target will be when it hits. Giving the targeting indicators a slight lead helps prevent a shot that might otherwise be wasted.

The second tip that Star Wars Galaxiespilots can use is to hit the brakes when fighting whose star fighter can achieve higher speeds. This forces an opponent to either slow down to the pilot’s own speed or causes the opponent to overshoot, giving the character a chance at an extra shot. Pilot players often refer to this as jousting.

Jump to Lightspeed: A Welcome Diversion from the Level Grind
The space game of Star Wars Galaxiesintroduced space combats and the pilot profession to this Sony Online Entertainment mmorpg. While many things have changed since Jump to Lightspeed’srelease, the pilot profession and how experience was gained remains more or less the same as it has since its introductions. (Some changes must be made for several years of patches, however.) When a character tires of killing monsters, he should take his Star Wars Galaxies pilot out to the black.

GCW Memories

by credits4swg on Mar.25, 2010, under swg characters, SWG Credit Farming Guide, Swg Credits

I was never that much into the Galactic Civil War, primarily because I don’t care for PvP. The GCW update is on the Test Servers now, and the initial response has been good. I do have memories of the old pre-CU GCW.

I remember landing at a player city shuttle and not seeing the Faction Scanners right at the landing. You would get flagged and blown up from the Mine Field as soon as you stepped off the Shuttle platform. At the time I was annoyed at the inconvenience of having to clone before continuing what I was doing, but now it is a fond memory.

I also have an old crate on Anti-Vehicle Mines still. I doubt they will be usefull again, maybe there is Museum on Flurry that would take them

Free Month of SWG for Former Players

by credits4swg on Mar.25, 2010, under swg characters, SWG Credit Farming Guide, Swg Credits

One free month for returning players is a great idea, imo. Bringing them back for the revamped Galactic Civil War may be great incentive for former players to resub. The following is from HeartlessGamer.com:

Return to the Galaxy for FREE
Any player that has previously subscribed to Star Wars Galaxies will be able to play the game free of charge between February 1st and March 1st.

No, this is not out of the kindness of SOE’s heart. Its an offer to promote their upcoming Galactic Civil War expansion: Forces Under Siege. This would be the expansion where SOE finally realizes that there is a galactic civil war occurring during the Star Wars classic time line.

Any old-school player (that means pre-NGE) will probably remember little to nothing about the galactic civil war from the original game, because there wasn’t one. Sure, Rebels and Imperial scum could chase each other around and spam knockdowns, but it was for no gain to either faction. It was nothing more than a constant gankfest at each of the spaceports. It sucked. No, it really, really sucked.

However, the new expansion approach to the GCW isn’t going to tempt me back into the game. I only mention it because its a free month of play for a MMOG, a Star Wars MMOG no less.

Nuetral Enemy of the Empire?

by credits4swg on Mar.25, 2010, under swg characters, SWG Credit Farming Guide, Swg Credits

Recently I took my Nuetral Trader to checkout the new faction stuff in Dearic. I agreed to some crafting thing, but never got the chance to craft stuff. Today I wanted to checkout the Ewok Love thing, and noticed the Kaadara Storm Troopers were red (enemy) dots on Radar.

I checked my Faction/GCW tab in Character screen.

I was killed in Kaadara, I assume because I was temporarily flagged as a Rebel Sympathizer.

This is strange thing to deal with on my Nuetral Tailor, so I cloned in Theed to get rid of the faction flag.

After cloning the Storm Troopers in Theed were still red dots that would attack me onsite. WTF.

Maybe I have to go back to Dearic and talk to the Rebel Recruiter guy again? Tell him I want to resign from the faction I AM NOT A MEMBER OF???

Creative ways with 4 accounts to get considerable GCW

by credits on Mar.13, 2010, under Swg Credits

Reading an old guide about doing faction missiong from terminals. And it got me thinking, because im about to do a similar thing but with creatures. I need to get some hide. Go out with what ever toons u want gcw on, and bring your other toons along. Have them running an afk assist macro for extra dps. Then just run between two of the missions all your toons got, and the npcs will hopefully respawn by the time you switch mission spawn locations. Eventually i think they will stop respawning this way, and you can blow up the tiny lil base for like 22 gcw points. Other than that i heard you can get around 2-3k gcw an hour in deep space. I also was reading that you can grind an ent up, or if you already have a lvl 90 that you want to make the opposite faciton you can do that. Go to a static base and go overt/SF and just have them run in and kill each other. You can do this about 10 times for each character per day. I would have both characters farm gcw off each other, because the higher rank that one of ur toons is, the more gcw the other toon will get for the kill. Plus the static bases give some not so bad gcw for very little effort.
