Offline Tools for Faster Levelling
by credits4swg on Jan.19, 2011, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, Swg Credits, SWG GUIDE
There are three simple tools you can use to maximize your efficiency while playing Star Wars Galaxies.
1. Timer
2. Calculator
3. Stopwatch
I have an old PalmPilot M100 I dusted off, and loaded oven timer and stopwatch programs into. A good old fashioned $2 oven timer from Wal-Mart and an equally cheap $2 digital wristwatch will work equally well.
-Practical Application-
1. Timer
Survival XP for Scout/Master Scout/Ranger. Absolutely the best use of a timer. You get the most Survival XP for having your tent up for 30 minutes. What if you don’t want to craft, or chat the entire 30 minutes? Or ANY of it? Use this trick. Make your camp. Set your timer for 30 minutes. Turn your monitor off and go enjoy life. Watch TV. Make coffee. Hang out with your Girlfriend. Remember her? Timers will let you enjoy the game AND those offline friends/family members you forgot you had! When the timer goes off, disband your camp, move a few meters, and open the next one. Start 30 minute timer again, rinse and repeat. You’ll get Survival XP -AND- have a life. Timers ARE your friend.
**Note! Do NOT idle much beyond 30 minutes, or the game will close itself, and you may end up getting NO Survival XP if your camp is not properly Disbanded.
Why do I not consider this a cheat? I can’t possibly fathom anyone going through the tedium to get Survival XP while actually playing. Sony dropped the ball on the gross amount of Survival XP needed – it’s absurd. It turns camping into IRC with pretty avatars.
2. Calculator
Sometimes we grind for XP the wrong way, in the wrong spots. Case in point:
While trying to get from Master Unarmed to Teras Kasi Novice, I was having a hard time of it. I wasn’t strong enough to solo Humbaba’s on Corellia (my homeworld), and the things I *could* solo seemed to give poor XP. Then I pulled out my old calculator, and checked some numbers.
My home is in the Agrilat Swamp on Radiant server. The swamp is filled with Diseased Vrelts. Each Vrelt gave me 143 XP, and were relatively easy to kill. I milked the lair (an old trick for those familiar with other MMORPG’s) and this is what happened:
A. Kill the 4 or 5 “guards” around the lair. Keep killing the others that appear until all gone.
B. Hit lair 1x, run off 10 meters. More will pop out.
C. Repeat in infinite loop until lair destroyed, and all guards gone.
So what’s the big deal? The first time I did this the lair spit out 32 Diseased Vrelts. 32*143= 4,576 Unarmed XP, +502 Unarmed XP for destroying the lair. 5,078 total Unarmed XP.
This brings us to the third part:
3. Stopwatch
I had my Stopwatch running while I cleaned out the lair. It took 8 minutes. that’s 5,078 Unarmed XP in 8 minutes. Let’s call it 10 minutes for easy calculating. What’s the big deal? I never had to heal 1x during that. I never had to town. I was never incapacitated or slain. I used a harvest macro to harvest every corpse very quickly after kill, and also accumulated 1,888 Scout XP in those 8 minutes.
“But Scot, I can go to tatooine and join a tusken party and get 1.8k XP for hitting/shooting a Tusken Warlord 3 times!!1111!11!”
YES YOU CAN! And the odds are *very* good that you’ll end up dead. You’ll spend half an hour in cantina and medical center, fifteen minutes running back to your body, and in that period of time, I’ve racked up 15,000-20,000 Unarmed XP and 5,000-6,000 Scout XP killing Diseased Vrelts in the swamp.
Moral of the Story: Using a stopwatch over a 10 minute period of time lets you calculate and find your optimal efficiency. If you’re working on reaching that next skill (and aren’t we all) this is important. Sometimes it’s fun to group and go hunt those tuskans. *Sometimes* you just want to powerlevel by yourself, and that’s where you’ll really get the XP. Killing small animals around a nest is higly transactional. It’s like McDonalds. They got their billions of dollars 99 cents at a time, very very quickly. The key here isn’t just the XP, it’s TOTAL LACK OF DOWNTIME. Every second you are healing, camping, towning, incapped, or retrieving corpse, you are NOT GETTING XP. YES It’s fun to hunt the really big things, there is a sense of accomplishment when you kill one. But you’ll get 2x the XP killing 25 SMALL things in HALF THE TIME.
That’s it folks. Check the math, experiment on your own. The results may surprise you.

SWG Credits: Mandalorian Religion
by credits4swg on Jan.07, 2011, under Swg Credits
Here is the information you need to know for SWG Credits and SWG Power Leveling. Let’s introduce you the Mandalorian religion.
The Mandalorian religion reflected the sensibilities and values of the Mandalorians. Like the culture itself, it changed over the years, but still maintained its fundamental tenets. In ancient times, Mandalorians were intensely religious, worshipping war and taking their myths literally. However disillusionment with devastating wars of conquest led to a re-interpretation of the stories as parables, to confer philosophical meaning rather than fact. Buy SWG Credits from us to enjoy the game, to start the SWG Powerleveling.
In Mandalorian myth, the sloth-god Arasuum eternally fought the destroyer god Kad Ha’rangir . This represented the constant struggle between stagnation, and the opportunity for change that stemmed from destruction. Every Mandalorian warrior who died was supposedly joined an army in the afterlife; there they defended their wives and children, who live on an enduring, peaceful homestead. This was viewed as the only place where Mandalorians could finally settle down permanently. Cheap SWG Credits and Cheap SWG Power Leveling are here! Just join us.
Later generations moved away from a belief in a literal heaven to emphasize the idea of the manda. The manda was described as “a combination of the collective state of being, the essence of being Mandalorian, and an oversoul.” To be part of it, a Mandalorian must understand their culture and truly live out its ideals. Otherwise, they would be a dar’manda–someone who was ignorant of their heritage, and would have no soul and no afterlife. This was regarded as a fate worse than death. This emphasis on culture helped to preserve the identity of the Mandalorians even when scattered across the galaxy.

1.First you must head to the planet of LOC and go to the pirate nyms palace… there you will have the option to do some quests for him. Complete the first 2 quests before even thinking of using this exploit.
2.Once you have completed the first 2 of the 3 total quests, talk to the pirate nym. He will tell you that he wants you to go and retrieve 2 items from an old imperial base. The items are an Imperial Grenade Casing, and a Data Disk
3.Proceed to the Imperial base using the waypoint that nym put in your datapad.
4.When you get to the base, don’t worry about the enemies, because they wont attack you. Now its time for you to do the actual exploit, if you can call it that J
5.You will need your inventory completely full, and an empty backback equipped. First, find the room that has the lootable computer in it. (its inside the left door of the main room with all the scientists) once you have found the computer open up your inventory, and your backpack at the same time. Now your ready to do the exploit…
6.Delete 1 item from your inventory so that you have 1 empty slot… now double click on the computer… it will open up and say that you have no room in your inventory for the data disk… but it will still put one in your inventory. Now, move that one into your open back pack… rinse and repeat until you have 25 of the data disks in your back pack.
7.Now head back up top and go in the opposite side door to find the grenade casing container… Repeat the same steps as you did for the data disk. Open inventory and backpack… make sure inventory only has one empty slot, and double click on the container to get 1 put in your inventory… repeat until you have 25 grenade casings.
8.Now head back to nyms castle… and give him in order 1 data disk, and 1 grenade casing… he will congratulate you on a job well done and give you a badge, he will also give you a Nym slug thrower carbine with 103-217 acid dmg, and 4 speed which can be used by anyone in the game.
9.Empty your inventory so you have 4-5 empty slots then give him another data disk and grenade casing, he will give you another slug thrower even though the mission has been completed. Repeat until your inventory is full, then transfer them to your fast emptying back pack/
10.You can repeat this procedure over and over, each time getting 25 or more slug throwers, you just need to keep the waypoint of the research facility so you can go back and get more ingredients.
11.Lastly, you can eather slice the guns to get the perfect one for you, or you can sell them like me for 100k each on the streets of coronet and theed. I have made about 20 million doing this.
12.Enjoy
As a note I’m not 100% sure it’s not patched.

How Star Wars Galaxies Pilots Gain an Edge When Flying in Space
by credits on Jan.05, 2011, under Swg Credits
Jump to Lightspeed gave players the chance to put the star in Star Wars. The expansion has more in common with flight simulators than an mmorpg.
Jedi, Commandos, Bounty Hunters and Officers have the planetary combat side of Star Wars Galaxies covered, but a game can hardly call itself Star Wars without including the opportunity for players to have their pilots portray the brave pilots of the Rebel Alliance, the Empire, and pilots who choose to associate themselves with the legitimate businessman such as Jabba the Hutt.
Pilot is not a profession that a character starts out with, but rather an added profession a character can join to give his character something more to do. Unlike the ground game which plays the same way as many other traditional mmorpgs do.
The space game of Star Wars Galaxies does not rely on levels as much as the ground game does. The skill of a pilot is more important in determining who gets the victory. The space game has more in common with a flight simulator than it does with an mmorpg.
Starting Out as a Pilot
Because players do not start out as pilots in Star Wars Galaxies, a character who wants to experience the space end of the game should seek out an Imperial or Rebel pilot recruiter. Which faction recruiter a character seeks out will depend on which faction he has chosen to ally himself with.
Getting Your First Star Fighter in Star Wars Galaxies
Players who choose to be pilots will at first be given plans for a Z-95 fighter, which for the past several years has had hyper drive capabilities. While this fighter is good enough to get them through the first missions, a character will want to upgrade eventually. As the experience of a character earns as a pilot increases, he will be able to fly better star fighters with better shields and weaponry. The star fighters a pilot character can fly is determined by his faction.
Star Wars Galaxies Pilot Tricks
While getting experience as a pilot is a matter of blowing up opposing craft, there are a few tricks a Star Wars Galaxies pilot can use to give him an extra edge. Many of these tricks work in many other flight simulator games.

The first tip that Star Wars Galaxiespilots can use is that they should fire their lasers where they think the target will be when it hits. Giving the targeting indicators a slight lead helps prevent a shot that might otherwise be wasted.
The second tip that Star Wars Galaxiespilots can use is to hit the brakes when fighting whose star fighter can achieve higher speeds. This forces an opponent to either slow down to the pilot’s own speed or causes the opponent to overshoot, giving the character a chance at an extra shot. Pilot players often refer to this as jousting.
Jump to Lightspeed: A Welcome Diversion from the Level Grind
The space game of Star Wars Galaxiesintroduced space combats and the pilot profession to this Sony Online Entertainment mmorpg. While many things have changed since Jump to Lightspeed’srelease, the pilot profession and how experience was gained remains more or less the same as it has since its introductions. (Some changes must be made for several years of patches, however.) When a character tires of killing monsters, he should take his Star Wars Galaxies pilot out to the black.
Guide to Force Shrines

Guide to Force Shrines
by Glzmo

Introduction
Force shrines are shrines dedicated to the living Force. Force sensitives say they feel their aura in the Force there. In the past, Jedi on the verge of death used to drag their near-dead bodies to such Force shrines where they fell into a healing trance that allowed them to survive, albeit barely. Nowadays this isn’t practiced anymore, but some Jedi have left replacement robes hidden beneath adjacent Force Shrines before battles in order to have fresh clothing afterwards. You may want to check underneath the shrine for items such as this. Jedi also tend to kneel before a force shrine to meditate before it respectfully in order to focus the Force within them and listen for wisdom and advice from ancient Jedi Masters long gone.
Force Shrine Functions

Force shrines have various functions. You can access them by moving the mouse cursor over the Force Shrine and summoning the radial menu (default key: ~). This will present you the following options:
Examine

This radial menu option will examine the force shrine. It works like the /examine command on other in-game items.
Meditate

This radial menu option will allow you to hear random echoes of words of wisdom from ancient Jedi Masters that once meditated at Force Shrines. Note that this only works if you “meditate respectfully”, which means that you have to be in a kneeling position (use the /kneel command) when you click on meditate.
Robe Replacement

This radial menu option will provide you with a replacement Padawan Robe that is the rough equivalent of the Initiate Robe granted at level 22, in case you have lost yours. Note that this only works if you don’t have another Padawan Robe in your inventory, backpack or bandolier. You may leave your other robes in your bank, house or multipassenger ship if you would like to get a replacement Padawan Robe .

There is no emotion, there is peace
This Radial Menu option will provide you with a Shatterpoint Cloak. It will only be available once you have Completed the Master Jedi Cloaks Collection of various Collections (read the Prerequisites section of this guide for details).
/sit down in front of it and use the /meditate ability. Note that this isn’t the same as “meditating respectfully” but the actual /meditate ability from the Jedi Artifact Collection – Meditative Discipline.
Click on the mysterious shrine and open the radial menu. Click on the There is no emotion, there is peace radial menu option to begin reciting the Jedi Code.
After your recital of the Jedi Code you will hear a whispering voice through the Force and a hidden compartment will open to reveal a Shatterpoint Cloak that must have been artfully crafted by an ancient Jedi Master a long time ago. This cloak protects a Force User as well as if not better than any Elder Jedi Robe and has been tailored to allow for more effective lightsaber skills.

Peace is a lie, there is only passion
This Radial Menu option will only be available once you have Completed the Master Jedi Cloaks Collection of various Collections (read the Prerequisites section of this guide for details).
/sit down in front of it and use the /meditate ability. Note that this isn’t the same as “meditating respectfully” but the actual /meditate ability from the Jedi Artifact Collection – Meditative Discipline.
Click on the mysterious shrine and open the radial menu. Click on the Peace is a lie, there is only passion radial menu option to begin reciting the Sith Code.
After your recital of the Sith Code you will hear a booming voice through the Force and a hidden compartment will open to reveal a masterfully crafted Cloak of Hate that must have been artfully crafted by an ancient Sith Lord many millenia ago. This cloak protects a Force User as well as if not better than any Elder Jedi Robe and has been tailored to allow for more efficient use of electrical Force use like Force Lightning.

Prerequisites to gain Access to the Shatterpoint Cloak and Cloak of Hate

The Master Jedi Cloak Collection has to be completed in order to be able to meditate and gain acces to the There is no emotion, there is peace and Peace is a lie, there is only passion radial menu options. To begin it, speak with Matarmeno Krahnn in Tyrena, Corellia ( /wp Corellia -5520, -2643 Matarmeno Krahnn in Tyrena [Begins Master Jedi Cloaks Collection] ) once you reach level 90.
The following Collections must be completed in order to complete the Master Jedi Cloaks Collection. Only if they are all completed, you’ll be able to successfully complete the following steps:

Collect five different Jedi Holocrons and five different Sith Holocrons to complete the Jedi Artifact Collection – Waistpack.

Collect five different Jedi Holocrons and five different Sith Holocrons to complete the Jedi Artifact Collection – Meditative Discipline.

To finish the One-Handed Fifth Generation Lightsaber Collection, you will need to hand in your Jinsu Razer and collect ten Jedi Relics.

Two-Handed Fifth Generation Lightsaber Collection.

To finish the Polearm Fifth Generation Lightsaber Collection.

Defeat the spirit of Jedi Bre’ano Umakk on Dantooine.

Defeat the spirit of Dark Jedi Quillara Adeen on Yavin IV.
Force Shrine Locations

According to ancient data, Force Shrines can be found on the following planets near the given coordinates. However, the coordinates may be a little inaccurate, as the data is old and the coordination wasn’t as accurate back in the days. Tectonic movements on some planets may also have caused a discrepancy.
Cut and Paste the following to add the waypoints to the Force Shrines to your Datapad:

Enter the Mandalorians
by credits4swg on Dec.30, 2010, under Swg Credits, SWG GUIDE, SWG News
A weekly guide and discussion by Larry Everett about the yet-to-be-released game Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Welcome, fans of Star Wars and Star Wars: The Old Republic. Some would say you cannot be a true Star Wars fan unless you are a fan of Mandalorians. Followers of these space-Spartans bury themselves deep in the warrior culture. The bearers of the iconic T-shaped visor have inspired costume after costume, scores of fan sites, collections of comic books, and bunches of books. The author of many of those books, Karen Traviss, created a whole independent language called Mando’a.
The Mandalorians’ history starts with a species called the Taung, who were renowned throughout the galaxy for their amazing conquests and advanced war technology. Calling themselves Mandalorians after their leader, Mandalore the First, these crusaders conquered all of what would be known as the Mandalore Sector, assimilating the native species into the culture of war and honor.
The depth of the Mandalorian culture cannot be covered in one article, but I would like to take a few key figures from the culture, study them, and contemplate their role in shaping Star Wars: The Old Republic. Let us explore this together after the break.
Ib’tuur jatne tuur ash’ad kyr’amur!
Canderous Ordo, who would later be known as Mandalore the Preserver, started his career as a commander under Mandalore the Ultimate in the Mandalorian Wars, about three centuries before the time of SWTOR. Ordo was among the soldiers in the Battle of Malachor V. This battle was a devastating blow to the Mandalorians, and they surrendered. Mandalore the Ultimate was executed by Revan, and the rest of them were stripped of their armor and honor.
Like most of the surviving Mandalorians, Ordo became a mercenary. He ended up on Taris working as an enforcer for the Exchange. This was the second time he met Revan, under the guise of a soldier for Bastila Shan. He would eventually help Revan and company off Taris before it was assaulted by Malak. From there he traveled with Revan to hunt down the Sith Lord. After Malak’s defeat, Ordo and the rest of Revan’s companions received the Cross of Glory award from the Republic.
When Revan left to find the true Sith Emperor in the Unknown Regions, he left instructions for Ordo to unite the Mandalorians, and prepare for the coming war. Ultimately, Ordo failed. For centuries after Ordo’s passing, Mandalorians would be without a unified leader until Mandalore the Lesser.
Mandalore the Lesser, whose real name is unknown, is not remember for great leadership, as Ordo is, but rather he is known as being a servant of the Sith Empire during the Old Republic times. The Mandalorians had been without a leader for centuries at the time they accepted him as Mandalore. He asked for all the Mandalorians to unite against the Jedi and the Republic, and all the clans came to his aid. His blockade of the Hydian Way trade route made him infamous throughout the galaxy, also secured him as the Emperor’s pawn. Although the blockade was eventually defeated, it had left a disastrous mark on the Republic.
Mandalore the Lesser had been working for the Empire long before the Hydian blockade. In fact, the Empire was responsible for his rise to power; Imperial agents assisted him by rigging Geonosian arena fights, in which he was a participant, thus helping him rise to the top very quickly. Mandalorian culture praised these fights and shows of physical strength. It is no mystery why the clans united behind him.
After the Mandalorian defeat at the Hydian Way, Mandalore the Lesser offered up to his people a challenge he called the Great Hunt. A man named Artus was crowned champion, then subsequently challenged Mandalore the Lesser to a duel. Artus won, killing the Mandalore and taking up the title Mandalore the Vindicated.
Not a lot is known about Mandalore the Vindicated, but we do know he was a supporter of the Sith Empire. When Jicoln Cadera rose up against Artus, claiming they should follow the ways of Mandalore the Preserver by joining the Republic, Cadera’s Mandalorians were attacked and defeated. Artus secured the Mandalorians as cautious allies of the Emperor.
Some fans call Boba Fett the worst example of what it means to be Mandalorian. Yet without him appearing on the Star Wars Holiday Special or capturing Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back, there would be no Mandalorian fan following (Fandalorians). His T-shape helmet gave a cold, heartless stare which begged the audience to find out more. Who was this masked man? Fett’s perplexity and prowess prompted nerdcore rapper MC Chris to write, “I’m a question wrapped inside an enigma; Get inside the slave one. Find your homing signal; From Endor to Hoth, Ripley to Spock; I’ll find what you want, but there’s gonna be a cost.”
Even though he may have been a poor Mandalorian, he was one of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy. He worked for some of the biggest names in the galaxy. As seen in A New Hope (Special Edition) and Return of the Jedi, Jabba the Hutt hired him to capture Han Solo. Darth Vader also employed him on occasion. The Dark Lord’s knowledge of Fett’s tactics prompted Vader to order, “No disintegrations.”
As Boba Fett aged, he became less self absorbed and more focused on the preservation of his people and his culture. And even though he was a clone, the Mandalorians accepted Fett as Mandalore. He would eventually lead the Mandalorians in the Yuuzahn Vong War and beyond.
Boba Fett’s suit of gadgets, grappling hooks, and flame throwers clearly inspired the Bounty Hunter class in SWTOR, but what other influences can we find? In a developers blog about the Bounty Hunter class, Daniel Erickson (who seems to get a quote in every one of my articles) says, “As a Bounty Hunter you are, and always will be, your own person. You start with nothing and work your way up, make a name for yourself and eventually travel in circles with Darths and Moffs, intelligence officers and governors, but you never become one of them.” That statement is a pure call back to Boba Fett. He was and will always be portrayed as a loner doing things for his own reasons.
I also believe we will find other influences of Mandalorians throughout the stories of SWTOR. I mentioned Jicoln Cadera because I believe his influence will play a role, if not in the Bounty Hunter class story, then in other class stories. I would not be surprised at all if the player were given the choice to do something for supporters of Mandalore the Vindicated or for supporters of Mandalore the Preserver.
As I said before, there is no way to fit the depth of this culture into one article, but I hope I got you thinking. What role do you believe Mandalorians will play in the stories and themes of SWTOR? Where will they fit in your character’s story? What are your thoughts? I want to hear them.

Getting Star Wars Galaxies Credits by Doing Missions
by credits4swg on Dec.23, 2010, under Swg Credits, SWG GUIDE
Missions are short term quests that denizens of the galaxy ask adventurers to complete. These can be simple delivery tasks, a job hunting down a certain kind of monster, or in the case of bounty hunters tracking down one of the notorious criminals of the galaxy.
Each mission gives the player some credits and using certain terminals can give the player faction with either the Empire or the Rebellion, depending on which faction in the civil war the player has sided on. These will provide the bulk of money to the average player, as farming is possible in Star Wars Galaxies, but it is not as profitable as it is in other games.
