5. Master Pilot mission
5.1. Introduction
“The approach will not be easy.”
5.1.1. How to get to Kessel
The Kessel system isn’t a “normal” system you can just hyperspace to. It is
accessible only through the conversation dialog with one of the factional Deep Space stations. Unlike Deep Space, you don’t have to be a Master Pilot to enter Kessel and it isn’t a mandatory PvP zone anymore C anyone can enter Kessel whenever they wish. However, the NPC ships are quite tough (there are no ships lower than Tier 5 at all) so lower-level Pilots will have a very hard time.
The space station waypoints are available in the POI section of your datapad
(Imperial Claw Station, Station: Deep Space, Last Nav Station), but nevertheless, here is a list of their waypoints and actual names if you wish to go there manually.
Pilot Faction Space Station Name Space Sector Waypoint
Imperial Imperial Space Station Endor 6250, 4950, 5920
Rebel Rebel Space Station Dantooine -4200, -2940, -6000
Freelance SpaceEve Online Gold Station Dathomir 4000, 175, -4750
Depending on your Pilot faction, if you ever die in Kessel, you’ll hyperspace back
to the space system you came from C in other words, Imperial Pilots will get back to Endor, Rebel Pilots to Dantooine and Freelance Pilots to Dathomir. Watch out as you can’t repair your ship fully in DantooineEve Gold and Dathomir, so you’ll have to hyperspace out to a different sector to get your ship completely repaired (Kashyyyk, Corellia or Naboo is recommended because of the hyperpoint/space station distance).
5.1.2. Preparation and aftermath
The first part of the Master Pilot mission: It is advisable for everyone in your
Master Pilot mission group to have done the first part of the mission C killing 30 enemy ships in the Kessel space sector, before assembling for the Corvette part of the mission. Of course, you can all doEve Money it together before the actual Corvette run, but having people who are still doing the first part of the mission in your group while you’re searching for the Corvette just complicates things and diverts you from the more important task at hand C destroying the Corvette.
The Pladjin Are Coming!
by credits4swg on Apr.15, 2010, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, swg characters
Six thousand years have passed since humans last had contact with the alien Pladjin. But now, rumors are reaching the Node that somewhere, deep in the distant starfields of the Eos, the enemy of humanity is on the move again.
The last battle between the Pladjin and humans is more legend than history now. The story goes that from the time of the Pictimoni Incident, when humans and Skizan began working together to fight the Pladjin, the tide turned slowly, but steadily in favor of humanity. But victory was hard to define in the closing centuries of this ancient conflict. The worlds of the Eos were left in utter ruin, many devoid of any life, human or Pladjin. And for most of the rest of the human Diaspora, civilization hung precariously to the tattered web of worlds still intact from the war. Many accounts hold that the Pladjin were equally wrecked and that rather than any single decisive battle, both sides simply lost the ability to organize attacks on the other.
However, such lackluster historical accounts are not dramatic enough to enjoy much popularity, so a suite of other stories are more widely known. Most popular of all, are the accounts of the Vesa people who sacrificed their own worlds in a heroic last effort to destroy the last active armada of the Pladjin. According to this story, the Vesa lured the Pladjini armada close to their home world, which they had booby trapped with spatial distortion arrays. The array of weapons were aligned with the gravitational fields of their world in such a way that when activated, the spatial energy present within the planet itself was instantly released in a colossal explosion that engulfed not only the Pladjini armada, but the Vesa planet as well. Experiments with this technique have never been successful, however, in reproducing such a chain reaction.
However the ware did ultimately conclude, an uneasy silence has fallen over the galactic neighborhood ever since. Occasionally, rumors and even panics do spread, but no sign of the Pladjin have been detected for six thousand years. Until now.
Readers of Demons of the Nemenusu will learn that the Pladjin are stirring and in the sequel, Crucible of Empires, firm evidence of this is obtained. So does this mean war? And if so, why do the Pladjin feel they have the power to take on the Skizan-Human alliance when they failed in the past? Stay tuned for answers in forthcoming editions of Source World Ghosts

Should One Use a Surge Protector on the Playstation 3?
by credits4swg on Apr.06, 2010, under Swg Credits, swg characters
Why Use a Surge Protector?
Surge protectors prevent electronic equipment from damage due to common electrical spikes and surges by regulating voltage passing through it to the equipment. High-quality surge protectors can also prevent damage from lightning strikes in some cases.
PS3 Warranty Concerns
Despite rumors to the contrary on some PS3 gaming forums, Sony has publicly stated it will not void your warranty to use a surge protector with your Playstation 3.
Quality of Surge Protector
Due to issues with power fluctuations potentially causing damage to the Playstation 3 console, it is vital to purchase a high quality surge protector. Also, purchase a surge protector with an indicator light that will tell you if it is functioning properly.
Transient Voltage Protection
A true surge protector should feature a sticker or label on the product with an Underwriters Laboratories (UL) rating. The label should say “transient voltage surge suppressor” and list the product’s input voltage and maximum voltage load. If the product does not have this, it is an extension cord, not a surge protector.
Replacement Guarantee
The surge protector you choose should have at least enough guaranteed insurance coverage for your electronics to cover the cost of replacing them should they be damaged while plugged into it.

Leveling an entertainer in Star Wars Galaxies is quick and easy, only taking about 24 hours. And the best thing? You can do it AFK!
Difficulty: EasyInstructionsThings You’ll Need:
SWG subscription
Step 1The first thing, obviously, is to create a character in the entertainer profession or respec a character to that profession.
Step 2Go to the back room of the Mos Eisley cantina, where you can level without being a nusance. Create a macro called “Lvlflourish”. The code is as follows:
/flourish 1
/pause 15
/flourish 2
/pause 15
etc… until you have 8 flourishes. End with a /pause 15 followed by /macro Lvlflourish.
Step 3Start dancing, or if you have an instrument, playing the instrument. Type /macro lvlflourish to start the macro. (When you want to end it, type /dump.) Don’t worry about effects, as those don’t earn XP, and please don’t spam while you’re AFK leveling; an entertainer on everyone’s ignore list is no good at all!
Step 4You can do the whole leveling process AFK (put the tag up if you want by typing /afk). I suggest checking back every hour to few hours, though, to update to the latest dance/song. To do that, stop dancing/playing, and then start again, but use the highest level dance/song you have. You will earn XP quicker.

Great Idea from the RolePlay Forums
by credits4swg on Mar.25, 2010, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, Swg Credits, swg characters
I was reading the RolePlay forums, and in particular the ‘Top 5 Bugs’ thread, and they have a great idea, imo:
Physical Appearance: There is a civil war in progress, soldiers get injured and should be able to display those with scars or blaster burns. Tattoos on species other than Zabraks, such as factional insignia or other designs on areas other than the face, these appear in canon.
Let the Entertainers have more Image Design options, like Scars, or putting an Arm Sling on, or a Head Wrap Bandage with brown bl0od stains. Maybe upper arm Tattoos that last a week that anyone can wear.
I will refrain from suggesting ‘tramp stamps’, but I would like that also

SWG/DE Interview with Teesquared
by credits4swg on Mar.25, 2010, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, Swg Credits, swg characters
The German SWG site SWG/DE recently interviewed Teesquared, and it went something like this:
SWG/DE:
The Chronicle Master hit the live servers a few weeks ago. How satisfied are you and how were the reactions reflecting on these first weeks?
Teesquared:
We are very satisfied with the way the update turned out. The development of Chronicles was a big task that involved all of the team and they did a great job on it. We felt that we had some really quality time on the public test server and through the support of our community we were able to get a lot of great feedback which we incorporated into the update.
SWG/DE:
Quest building with the Relics is quite intuitive, but of course, like with every new system, there are some points, the users want to have improved:
Some of these points are:
The list of relics in the quest builder is confusing. The sorting by quantity shows you an alphanumerical list, so you find a stack of 60 items before you find one of nine.
The Relic Quality is not shown either. Detailed information about the NPC’s of the Relics are missing.
Another point is the huge amount of new items filling up your inventory. Even when putting some rewards in a quest, those items count against my inventory. Just imagine what will happen, when I am building a number of quests, each rewarding you with a new quest holocron…
Do you see any need in revamping these?
Teesquared:
Now that we have seen the system in use, we see some opportunities to enhance the system in a future update. In terms of some of the features we are exploring for a possible next update, improving the quest builder interface is on the list including how relics are displayed. In addition, adding a relic container with an option to auto-add relics and/or fragments would also be really cool. We are aware of the concerns regarding inventory clutter and want to address them for the players.
SWG/DE:
The idea of shared quests got some really good feedback. While waiting for the rest of my heroic-group, I may use the time for building a holocron for the upcoming Exar Kun run so everyone not only gets an Exar Kun token but some Chronicle Master Silver token too…
But many players say, the way of sharing is complicated and time intensive. What is your experience in this point? Do you think, you can make this easier?
Teesquared:
Sharing was added as a way to lessen the grind of creating quest holocrons and improve the return on investment for the Chroniclers. Overall it was very well received and proved popular to the players. I understand your concern and we’ll look at ways to make it even easier to share as part of our enhanced feature set in the next Chronicles update.
SWG/DE:
Do you see some possibilities to increase the maximum of shares per quest?
Teesquared:
Sounds good to me! We may add some items that give Chronicler bonuses like additional shares per quest. We’ll keep that in mind.
SWG/DE:
Right now, we can just build linear quests. Will there be some options for making more complex quests? Decisions that may lead you to another task of the quest (example: You have a dialog with a NPC, you choose answer 1 and may solve tasks a, b, c, you choose answer 2 and get tasks z, y, x)?
Teesquared:
The original paper design had branching support. However, to lock down the system for the initial release we decided to focus on relic variety and keep the quest creation simple and accessible. We may look at branching in the future or possibly adding more complex relic types that can add some more mystery to your stories.
SWG/DE:
And how about some puzzles (like those in the Meatlump Themepark) and clickable items?
Teesquared:
We’ve had several requests for puzzles. It’s on the list as a possibility for the next pass on the system.
SWG/DE:
A really nice idea a member suggested, is some kind of dungeon construction kit. This may give you some tools to design a dungeon or house using known patterns of similar ones already in game. You also may place NPCs and (clickable) items etc. Entrance may be granted by a spawnable NPC, a clickable item or just by going to a given waypoint – a bit like the HK- or Sher-Kar instances on Mustafar. How do you like this kind of idea? Do you see any possibilities to generate this?
Teesquared:
I think that’s a great idea and it was something we had in the original design as well. One of our requirements was that any quest created needs to work under any conditions. If a quest depended upon a player placed NPC, then it would break if that player removed the NPC. Making a system with this condition foolproof would be very difficult.
SWG/DE:
Like first mentioned, the Chronicle Master should also boost trading. You described your hopes, that many players will offer their quests and relics to the community. Even a trader’s tent is given as a reward. But many players have mastered their combat chars as a Chronicle Master – and they can’t place vendors. As a result, they are not able to participate in trading. Don’t you think, it might be useful to give those chars, that mastered this profession, a vendo? Even if this may only be used for Chronicle Master related items?
Teesquared:
We built an infrastructure to allow a Chronicles only vendor. There were some interesting discussions among the players regarding ways to offer a Chronicles vendor and not upset the trader community. We’re still looking into the correct way to support this in order to keep all players happy.
SWG/DE:
Already announced were relics for space missions and NPC spawns. Can you give us a brief overview about the possibilities of those relics? Will we be able to spawn a bigger group of NPC? Even in (player and non-player) cities?
Teesquared:
Adding spawn relics to Chronicles is a great idea. The current thought on how that could work is that when they are activated, the player would be required to go to a specific location. Once the event is triggered, it could result in a specific high level mob spawned or an encounter. There could also be a simple queuing system so that players would not be able to cause over-spawns or interfere with other quests.
SWG/DE:
The community has a lot of really good ideas for new relic types. What do you think about some profession specific tasks, like a Bounty Hunter or a Smuggler for example?
Teesquared:
I think this is a great idea! We’ve talked about adding several new relic types and many new relics in the future.
SWG/DE:
What happened to the perform relics? They were introduced on TC/TCP but haven’t hit the live servers.
Teesquared:
We had a very simple perform task that did not meet our quality expectations. When we do put one in, we’re going to do it right. It’s a high priority for the system.
SWG/DE:
Will there be more then:
Go to cantina X
Perform Y seconds
Teesquared:
Yes. That’s the reason we held off on releasing it.
SWG/DE:
When do you expect them to go live?
Teesquared:
We are completing our planning for next year. The team is very focused on GCW right now and Wookiee Life Day is on the horizon as well.
SWG/DE:
Chronicle Master and Storyteller – two systems that complement one another. Can you describe your plans to integrate them?
Teesquared:
We still haven’t finalized the plan to integrate them but it’s something we want to do. You mentioned a dungeon/encounter building system. Something along these lines is what we would like to try to do.
SWG/DE:
Another concern is that the Chronicle Master is the only profession you have to grind, that will not be rewarded by a badge. Is this fair?
Teesquared:
We will add a profession badge for CM as well. We love you guys!
SWG/DE:
What we have to talk about of course is: No-Trade Rewards – a red rag for the community, especially for those with some more toons. Why have you decided to make the rewards no-trade (shared)?
Teesquared:
The Chronicles system is built around trade. We want you to create stories and trade them to your friends. We want you to gather and trade relics. As a reward for participating in the system, we’ve created a cool set of loot. So play Chronicles and enjoy the loot!
Players expressed concern that we included decorations which were no-trade and admins on structures could not manipulate them so we added that ability.
SWG/DE:
And there is no way to give this up?
Teesquared:
No.
SWG/DE:
What are the copper token for?
Teesquared:
The copper token was part of the original design but didn’t get used. We left it in as a placeholder for the future. Maybe something GCW related? Stay tuned…
SWG/DE:
Finally I would like to ask you, to give a teaser-like outlook on the future of the Chronicle Master:
Teesquared:
More relics, more relic types, spawns, encounters, and some really fun ways to make your stories come alive are things we would like to do for Chronicles next year! Keep telling stories and you will be rewarded!
SWG/DE:
We are looking forward to the future and your ideas for the Chronicle Master. Good luck and fun with the other upcoming projects for you and your team.
Thank you very much for you answers and the time you took to be here.

Restart my Jedi?
by credits4swg on Mar.25, 2010, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, Swg Credits, swg characters
I have written before about being a proud owner of a mediocre Jedi. The fact is, I never play my Jedi anymore. What I want to do is regrind as Jedi from level 1 back up to 90. I think this would renew my interest in the profession.
Is there a way to respec my cl 90 Jedi back down to cl 1 Jedi without deleting the toon? A couple of my older accounts still have the “Profession Respec Kit”, but I do not know if that will do what I want. I do not want to reroll/delete this toon because she has a rare Sunrider’s Destiny Crystal.
Anyone know how to respec down to cl 1 within the same Profession?

I Know It’s Too Early…..
by credits4swg on Mar.25, 2010, under SWG Credit Farming Guide, Swg Credits, swg characters
It is January, and an old man’s thoughts turn towards…
SOE Fan Faire and Las Vegas!
2008 Fan Faire registration opened May 31st for mid-August conference.
2009 Fan Faire registration opened April 21st for a late June conference.
There is no gauranty that Fan Faire will be in Las Vegas this year, they usually consider other cities. I hope it is, because I love Vegas. Clean, safe, and easy to get around.
Another thought; Free Realms has a huge player base. Big enough for thier own convention. If SOE plans on including Free Realms content and seminars, 2010’s Fan Faire could double in size. There are some MMO pundits who say a free to play MMO would not get allot of registrations for a convention, but I disagree.
Once again, I encourage everyone to try to get to Fan Faire. Free food/drink, free swag and allot of fun.
